Thanks to Alex Maniotis, Senior Gameplay and Cinematic Animator, for joining us for round 1 of Motorica Masters! Alex has experience across
Unreal Engine,
Unity,
Maya and
3ds Max,
working on gameplay animation, cinematic animation, motion editing and character performance. His background includes work on
Dune: Awakening and other projects across real-time game animation and cinematics.
In this session he walks through how he used
Motorica products such as
Motion Factory and
Motion Stage inside
Unreal Engine to build his
Motorica Masters piece: generating a custom locomotion and motion matching dataset, importing and retargeting animations, setting up pose search databases, recording gameplay, and then layering a cinematic pass with Metahuman facial capture and polish on top.
It is a practical look at how a senior animator uses Motorica in a real gameplay and cinematics workflow.
