Motorica Masters 2026: Living World is wrapped, and we could not be prouder of this cohort.
Huge thanks to every contestant who put real time into a Living World submission. Building denser crowds, clearer archetypes, and believable motion on a deadline is hard. You showed up.
Thank you as well to David Reyes (Solid Cloud Arts) for judging this round and for sitting down with the top three in follow-up conversations.
$3,000 prize pool · 3 winners.
Here is a look at the winning worlds:
1st place · Michal Navrátil (Warhorse Studios)
Cinematic Designer
Michal’s submission had the strongest living-city feel in the field. An ambitious Sims-style environment, characters with distinct problems, and motion that still read as people when the camera moved through density. Natural stops and player interaction went beyond a default behavior loop, and the high-fidelity presentation raised the bar for everyone watching.
2nd place · Bas Kessels (Escape Velocity Entertainment)
Tech Animator
Bas built a quarantine-zone story you could read through behavior alone: queues, transformation, and emotion without relying on narration. It was the most extensive systems work in the round (look-at, strafing, fleeing civilians, queue progression), and the tight corridors made the population feel dense and intentional.
3rd place · Daniel Seager (Third Kind Games)
Senior Technical Animator
Daniel packed a cohesive medieval RPG village with real density for the map size. Distinct character classes and movement styles sold the place as a hub with personality, and the peg-leg character stood out as a clear Motorica style combination the judges remembered.
What’s next
Stay tuned for workflow deconstructs with the winners, plus pro tips from the people who shipped these worlds. We will dig into how they used Motion Factory in Unreal: what they directed, where they iterated fast, and what other animators can steal for their own Living World setups.
